Smoke free England 1st July 2007
The Government's strategy on tobacco control is to shift the balance significantly in favour of smoke free enclosed and substantially enclosed public places and workplaces through legislation, to reduce levels of exposure to second hand smoke.
Smoke free premises will be required to display a no smoking sign that meets minimum requirements at each public entrance to the premises.
As smokers move outside, cigarette end litter may become a problem. To encourage safe litter disposal fit a wall mounted ash bin. Also there are numerous NO SMOKING signs available for assisting with the enforcement of the new legislation.
