Philips launches new Digital Voice Tracers for easy note-taking, long voice recordings and music playback
Vienna, Austria - Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE: PHG) announced today the launch of the new Digital Voice Tracer portfolio, which has been optimized for easy recording of notes while offering a large memory as well as music playback and recording functions. Customers can choose from five attractively designed models, ranging from the DVT 7655 for fast and easy archiving of ideas to the feature-packed DVT 7890, designed for business people who rely heavily on recorded memos.
The high-end Digital Voice Tracer 7890 allows direct MP3 stereo recording, even from the integrated FM radio. If connected to a notebook, the USB-powered device needs neither a battery nor any other additional equipment and offers fast file transfer by e-mail through high-speed USB 2.0. Offering ample storage capacity, the Digital Voice Tracer 7890 easily records long conferences or lectures and stores up to 512 MB. With a maximum recording time of 288 hours, users can continually record ideas, tasks or meetings 24 hours a day for up to 12 days. To easily capture and relocate agenda points, customers can record long conferences using the unique auto divide function, where the device automatically begins a new file every 30 or 60 minutes. After longer recording sessions, files can also be split into separate parts for convenient archiving or transfer by e-mail.
"Four out of our five models are new and they all come with more internal memory, allowing users to store long voice recordings. There is no longer any need to download or delete files to free up space,” says Thomas Brauner, Managing Director of Philips Speech Processing - Dictation Systems. “With the new products, Philips offers consumers a complete Digital Voice Tracer portfolio with state-of-the-art product design and extensive functionality that goes far beyond recording notes – for high school kids, young men, modern working women, journalists or business people.”
Digital Voice Tracers are easy to operate, allowing users to start the recording function with one hand or even voice-activate a recording for hands-free dictation. Up to five recording modes are available, allowing you to choose between longer recording capacity or outstanding sound quality, while a large front speaker ensures crystal-clear sound quality.
Recommended retail prices start at EUR 69 for the DVT 7655, while the high-end DVT 7890 will cost approximately EUR 199. All new products will be available from September 2006.
